Grades for all degree candidates are due from instructors as stated on the Academic Calendar. The final degree evaluation process will be conducted the first business day after the day degree candidate grades are due. Once completed, results of this process are available in Howdy.
If a student clears and the degree(s) is awarded, a conferral date for the degree(s) will be posted on the student’s unofficial transcript or the student’s Graduation Status Check will state the degree has been awarded. Per Student Rule 14.5 degree candidates that do not clear the initial process have until 5:00 p.m. the first Friday of the following term to clear all requirements for the degree to be awarded. Candidates not cleared by this date must reapply for graduation in a future term and pay the diploma fee again.
Grades for all degree candidates are due at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The final degree evaluation process will be conducted on the morning of Thursday, December 12, 2024. Degree candidates can check their graduation status through Howdy on the My Record tab using the Graduation Application and Status Check shortly after 2:00 p.m.
If a degree has been awarded, the “DEGREE STATUS” will state that the student has officially graduated. Students can also verify their graduation status by checking the unofficial transcript in Howdy. If the “DEGREE DATE” is listed, the degree has been awarded. If degree candidates have questions about their graduation status, undergraduate and professional students should contact their academic advisor and graduate students should contact the Graduate and Professional School at grad@tamu.edu.
The results of the final degree evaluation process on Thursday, December 12, 2024 will have no impact on a student’s ability to attend a Fall 2024 commencement ceremony. All that is required to attend the ceremony is an active Fall 2024 graduation application for the student’s respective degree program(s).
Degree candidates not clearing for graduation on December 12, 2024 will have until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 to clear all degree requirements. Candidates not cleared by this date will not be awarded a Fall 2024 degree and will need to reapply for graduation in a future term and pay the diploma fee again.
In addition to diplomas being withheld for candidates who do not pass the final degree audit, diplomas are also withheld from graduates who have failed to settle all financial obligations with the University in accordance with University and State rules. Students may review their account balance online to determine if there are any unsettled obligations that may prevent receiving their diplomas.
Diploma Shipment InformationDiplomas for all Professional, Doctoral, Master’s, and Bachelor’s students will be mailed upon verification of completion of all degree requirements. Additionally, physical certificates are mailed to students that submit certificate graduation applications and complete all program requirements. These documents will be mailed to the address the degree candidate provided on their application for graduation.
Diploma and Certificate mailing addresses cannot be updated by students in Howdy. Instead, students should email Degree Audit (degree-audit@tamu.edu) to have these addresses updated. Once a document ships for an awarded degree or certificate, graduates will receive an email with tracking information through their Texas A&M email account.
The deadline for Fall 2024 degree candidates to update their diploma/certificate mailing address is 5 p.m. on December 11, 2024.
Fall 2024 Diplomas and Certificates will ship based on the schedule found on the Diploma Information page. Questions regarding diploma and certificate shipment should be directed to Degree Audit at degree-audit@tamu.edu.
